Multiple Website Consolidation

Our Client specializes in the temporary placement of physicians, CRNAs, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and psychologists at healthcare facilities across the U.S. As the company has grown through acquisitions, our Client realized an opportunity to streamline its web properties into a common visual framework. APG Emerging Tech partnered with our Client to devise a responsive web framework scalable across today’s brands and future brands.

Opportunity

Our Client specializes in the temporary placement of physicians, CRNAs, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and psychologists at healthcare facilities across the U.S. As the industry’s most-visited job board, our Client helps healthcare organizations connect with the professionals they need to ensure patients have access to quality care.

Over time, our Client has acquired other niche industry websites, each with different underlying tech stacks and wildly varying user experiences. As a means to save time and money in long-term development costs, and to create a much better user experience for healthcare workers, our Client engaged APG Emerging Tech to develop a strategy for consolidating four sites under the Client’s overall umbrella into a common framework.

Approach

Our consultants engaged with our Client’s IT leadership, Marketing leadership, and Product Management teams to elicit key requirements for this massive consolidation effort. Aligning this many stakeholders can be a challenge, but we understood the importance of buy-in and consensus.

“Beyond just designing a great user experience, we dug in to understand our Client’s desired tech stack underpinnings to ensure our designs met user expectations and would work with a new CMS and existing integration services.”- Justin Cullifer

APGET’s designers quickly modeled a full, end-to-end prototype of a common user experience across all four of the consolidated websites. Each site would maintain its distinctive character, in terms of branding, messaging, and imagery, but would utilize the same underlying infrastructure and workflow to serve constituents.

Our deliverables included a full backlog of user stories and acceptance criteria, plus HTML and CSS designs for each site and reusable components.

Outcomes

APGET can act as our clients’ adjunct product team for product strategy, design, and build of the solution. We can also plug and play into specific areas of the product lifecycle to give our clients a hand where one is needed. In the case of this project, we plugged in to strategy, design, and development of key assets. Our Client’s internal IT development organization has consumed our deliverables and is working to bring the four new websites to life. All feedback to-date has been positive and indicates our inputs have accelerated internal efforts and reduced the need for rework.
